Catchup post! I feel really busy with random hunting-for-job stuff, but I did get a chance to see the lovely Miss Tsykalova (pinkrhino) at Jean George's restaurant Vong, for lunch. The place is so completely beautifully manicured that I felt a little self conscious for a moment, but they're so gracious and the food is so tasty that it's easy to forget that.

Restaurant Week rocks -- and I'm due to play with sir_graeme tomorrow, for dinner at Compass, which is conveniently located like 3 blocks from me, and which was knock-your-socks-off delicious last time I was there.

I gave up on trying to do Kaplan training -- not that it's not a nice company, and I know I like the kids, but the sense of despair I got over doing presentations wasn't worth it.

The other day, there was some clean, gorgeous fog that made me pretty happy:

Hi--we've got some friends in common and I knew you somewhat when we were at Wtown, so i hope you don't mind me posting. But I noticed that you dropped the Kaplan training? No worries--I did too because I truly think that it's henious. If you're looking for maybe a better opportunity with working with kids, try their sister company, Score! You'd be looking to be a Part Time Instructor in one of their personal tutoring centers. I know there are a few in NY, but if you might want to look at their website, escore.com. Most of their sites are computer based, but the PT centers are really fun and less strict about what you say or do when you tutor.

hey Sara :) I actually trained with Kaplan before, but yeah, egads, I'd forgotten how heinous it is. I applied for Score, actually, and got turned down, but I did like them a lot better.
