What sort of chocolate?
Jul. 29th, 2007 01:00 pmIt occurs to me that the vast majority of my friends appreciate chocolate. And some of them will even eat inferior "chocolate," like Hershey's. But which sort is your very favorite sort? Dark? Milk? White? Filled with orange, raspberry, nuts, nougat, coconut...? Jacques Torres, Teuscher, Neuhaus, Godiva...?
Please post a comment and let me know! That way, when you come over or when I am considering my next chocolate buying maneuver, (or your other friends who read this livejournal are considering their own next chocolate buying spree), they can think of you :)

Date: 2007-07-29 07:36 pm (UTC)I'm a big fan of chocolove's 65% cocoa bars. I don't really like my chocolate with stuff in it. Unless it's mint.
Also Rossia's coffee/chocolate bar. MMMMM. Sadly not so easily obtainable outside of the CIS.

Date: 2007-07-30 04:32 am (UTC)Just some of my favorites:
-Milka
-Cadbury's Fruit and Nut
-Champagne truffles, especially from Teuscher (but I know that they cost a pretty penny...sigh...)
-Pralines from anywhere
-Neuhaus
But my perennial favorite has to be Mozartkugeln!

Date: 2007-07-30 04:29 pm (UTC)i really dislike white chocolate and am not so fond of milk chocolate although i still enjoy a good m&m and a few brazilian chocolate candies. aside from that, i love dark chocolate and am not averse to cheap dark chocolate--in spain, i loved dark chocolate valor bars with almonds and trader joe´s markets chocolate under their brand name that also comes in dark chocolate with almonds. i would have to say that you are eating empty calories with hershey´s. ;)

Date: 2007-08-03 01:05 pm (UTC)Dark: Scharffen Berger. Mmmm.
Unusual: I'm a huge fan of Vosges' matcha bar - it's dark milk chocolate with a bit of green tea (matcha) zing in it. OHHH yum lovely. It's expensive, though (a bar is $6-7 around here). Also, I really do like Kinder's Kinder Bueno, which is overwhelming creamy hazelnutty goodness. And, one of my coworkers was just in Estonia and brought back some incredibly good white chocolate with blueberries in it. I'm not the hugest fan of white chocolate, but damn, this stuff was good.
