Most delicious experience:

licking the spoon and pot from a homemade cajeta (caramel) sauce that had been infused with brown sugar and rich butter...
and having had Neil's homemade apple crisp with cinnamon and a whole other stick of butter.

There's nothing like coming home to a lovely baking surprise.

Baking surprises is awesome. I like baking surprises for other people too, but they tend to like it less, because my idea of surprise tends to be "secret or special ingredient that most people wouldn't want in that particular food item."

perhaps this post is why i made mango crisp today on an impulse. you could have had some, but it was going to be awfully hard to ship it so i had to share it mostly with my housemates.

mangos are too fibrous for baked things. i think i will go back to apples or peaches.
