Noneffective panhandling

Not effective ways to get yourself money:

- walk into the subway car and, right off the bat, sexually harass an attractive young woman
- then complain loudly that she hasn't smiled when she doesn't acknowledge your "how's it going, beautiful?"
- when others in the car glare at you, then complain that New Yorkers are humorless
- begin your pitch with, "good morning, ladies, gentlemen, humorless people..."
- interrupt your pitch about being a vietnam veteran by saying that you have 2 kids and that you're only here for their sake, and why doesn't everyone understand that you have a right to provide for them, too?
- loudly grumble and insult others when you walk around looking for change and people aren't giving it to you

strangely, we almost never have beggars on the subway in são paulo and they´re almost always women with a load of kids with colds and conjunctivitis or people with really horrible diseases or disabilities. frankly, i think everyone else knows that they would get kicked out or have no luck. there is so much poverty here that everyone is pretty desensitized unless the person manages to pull on your heartstrings.
