Yesterday, a weird burning smell filled my room. I couldn't for the earth of me figure out what it was.

This morning, I sleepily stretched (ow, muscles sore from yesterday's workout), and wandered over to the computer. Hmm. It's not turning on.

And slowly, the connection dawned.

I *hate* it when that happens. I was working on my machine once remotely when it did. It froze up while I was in the middle of some project, I grumbled, got up in the lab, pulled myself across campus to my room, and walked in to the wonderful smell of toast.

At least you have Lil. =)

Gah!

Sounds like a blown capacitor in the power supply... at least, that's the only way I've had a computer "die" that caused a smell. Mind you, there's usually a nice "bang!" involved in that particular death.

And I'm going to have no end of amusement with the idea of Lil' on your lap. *smirk*

... good heavens. I have no idea what you just said, except for that last bit. Anyway -- yes, I'm consistently amused at the idea I have Lil in my lap, although the laptop was actually named before I met Lil. I like the name "Lilith," for the first female/ first demoness connotations.
