Massage therapists are great. One of the LMTs I saw today not only gave me extra time during the session, but also showed me how to tape my feet so I didn't feel like screaming every time I took a footstep. Then she showed me how to massage the retinaculum around the ankles, which, oddly enough, made the bottom of my feet (plantar fascia) feel better. That's much more pleasant than the contrast bathing (ice-heat-ice-heat) and tennis ball rubbing I'd been giving myself, and gods, it may help enough so that I don't die after a practice session or hands on class this semester. I was afraid that I'd have to take too many days off this semester and risk retaking the semester all over again because of this one stupid plantar fascia injury, but extra self-care tips are really, really useful for this.
