Relaxation and resolution
Apr. 26th, 2007 06:56 pmSan Diego (where Neil has taken me, to accompany him on a conference), is spectacular :) I had a bad moment of being lonely and freaked out about being in a strange city (where it threatened to rain this morning, and it was unseasonably cold), but a call to a friend helped, and then I got to spend a good portion of the rest of the day lounging and relaxing. Sandy beach, beady-eyed seagull, small children being actually cute, and excellent reading. And good food.
I've needed this for a while. My stress meter's been pretty high. And it feels so nice being stress free for just a little while...
I've decided: no more letting people stress me out.
Minimal contact with my mother, who radiates stress like a dryer radiates lint, and with other friends who are drama queens or otherwise stressful. One clear attempt to change the subject and explanation about not wanting to be stressed out, and then zero contact if pattern continues.
