Talking to a mildly upset friend today, I found myself repeating what I so often do: "go have some tea."
I know that I said before that sushi cures all ills, but it's really more like, "sushi cures all grumpiness," and tea seems to cure a lot of the depression/stress issues I have.
Tea, mint or fruited, seems to brace me, forcing me to relax and breathe in warmth, exhale stress. I like telling other people to have the same experience; and I know that not everyone likes tea in the same way that I do, but I seem unable to help it, since when I have been able to get people to drink tea, they do generally seem more relaxed.
Bullying people on behalf of tea seems absurd, when there are so many other things I could do to help someone relax. On the other hand, there are entire stores built to the worship of tea -- the way it fills your nostrils, and takes away the cold of the day. Didn't we fight a war because the price of tariffs was too high on tea? :wry:
I guess I'm just a tea-bigot.
