Gogo working early -> winning the initiative.

1 - Tracy Chapman, "Fast Car"
5 - Lol, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". Disney did one for The Lion King. REM did one. Dunno who did the original.
7 - Deep Blue Something, "Breakfast at Tiffany's"

[identity profile] kimberkit.livejournal.com 2006-03-02 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks :) And I'm amused at you getting the Lion King one.

[identity profile] ultiville.livejournal.com 2006-03-02 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I am amused by the hyena nazis in that movie :P

It is one of the Disney ones I like better.

That said, I am sorta surprised I remembered that song was in it :P

it is south african, there was recently a big debate because it had always been credited as "original" beginning with the weavers version... pete seeger of the weavers has appologized but the nylons guy says he committed no wrong, that he changed the song substantially.

[identity profile] kimberkit.livejournal.com 2006-03-03 02:41 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] lediva.livejournal.com 2006-03-03 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a dichotomous person. :)

[identity profile] zaofan.livejournal.com 2006-03-02 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee hee! #8 is certainly Windrider Unchained! That makes me happy. =)

And #11 is "Full of Grace" (which I only know thanks to you)

[identity profile] kimberkit.livejournal.com 2006-03-03 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
I knew you'd get #8, but cool that you knew 11. It made me smile when it came up too.

9. Fields of Gold, Sting

That line is branded in my memory from the time I discovered that Sentimental Music + Graeme driving in very sappy mood = car swerving off the road.

[identity profile] sir-graeme.livejournal.com 2006-03-03 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I was driving along Route 2 and listening to the radio when "Fields of Gold" came on. I was in a sentimental mood, so I allowed myself to be taken in by the music. And when I drifted off the road a few times, the last time being after the "her hair came down" line, I shut off the radio.

[identity profile] entropicangel.livejournal.com 2006-03-02 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
2. "Your Heart is an Empty Room", Death Cab For Cutie

Wow ... almost everything else is done!

[identity profile] kimberkit.livejournal.com 2006-03-03 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
people are fast with lyrics :) And yes, you're a good death cab fan.

[identity profile] simonbillenness.livejournal.com 2006-03-02 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so bad at recognizing lyrics. That's because I listen more to the overall sound rather than the lyrics.

I get the lyrics totally wrong to some of my very favorite songs.

[identity profile] lediva.livejournal.com 2006-03-03 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Aha!

I cheated and looked up #17 (and as such, won't spoil it here), but I knew the first line. You just broke it in a weird place, for my lyrical memory. :)
