The gift of fear - a book review

I'm only halfway through this book, on the self-preservation measures that instinct provides, and I have to say it's quite brilliant. It breaks down the warning signals that our instincts do for us naturally (like, when someone deliberately ignores our "no," uses forced teaming -- "we" -- or uses too much detail in his or her lies, or is just generally too glib...) and I think it could actually save someone's life.

That's not to say that I shouldn't go back to my high school days and try to figure out judo or something, because a martial art is another useful skill. But good stuff.
